Aftermarket trigger for Sako Finnfire... CG, where to buy?

#1 Post by TattooedGun »

From a quick search this morning it seems that the only real trigger to buy triggers for this rifle would be the CD Universal trigger which apparently fits...

Does anyone have any experience with this trigger, and where can they be bought, and for how much?

My dads Sako is performing well, but the trigger pull is a little heavy... he's shooting over a 98 average in benchrest competitions with it just off a harris bipod and stock rifle... He thinks a lighter trigger will help, and I'm inclined to agree, but where to get one, what to get?

Help appreciated!

Good triggers, I have two. Jackson Rifles used to supply them but you may have to order from the USA now.

Extreme Triggers

They don't list Sako Finnfire so best drop them an email.

Dave at Valkyrie Rifles sells trigger springs for £5 or so, I put one in my Finnfire makes a big improvement for not a lot of cash! I think, if I remember correctly, they roughly half the adjustment range , eg going from 2-4 lbs without to 1-2 lbs with the spring. Cheap mod!

The C.G Model 21 is now also built in Europe by Centra. I have a few here and they are a work of art, very nice indeed.

Before you go down the expensive route of buying a new trigger, you could try the solution that I used for a heavy trigger on my Finnfire.
I removed the incredibly stiff spring at the front of the trigger unit and replaced it with a spring from and old ball-point pen, which, although a hell of a lot flimsier, was much more adjustable.
More than halved the trigger weight without compromising the safety or integrity of the rifle or trigger.
Still using it as it was set up more than 10 years ago.

Also if you don't mind dealing with bristley individuals there are a couple of UK suppliers for trigger springs.
