Recommend Badger a Section 1 shotgun

#1 Post by meles meles »

Mr Plod noticed we didn't have a shotgun certificate on his last visit and so gave us a section 1 12 bore variation plus a slug allowance on our FAC to tide us over until we get around to requesting an ordinary shotgun certificate. What ought we to be looking at, oomans?

It very much depends on what you want it for.

If you want a pump I'd recommend the Remington 870, but if you want a semi I'd go Remington 1187, don't think you can beat the Remi bang for your buck.

That said the mossburg 500 is good for the fast reload as it doesn't have a gate that will get in the way when you're trying to stuff your tube ASAP.

We think it will primarily be a fun gun. We like the look of the Vepr and its ruggedness, high capacity and fast change magazines - but not the price. The Bora 99 is a definite contender too, and we hear good things about Mossberg 500

Not sure if badgers have opposing thumbs or not, perhaps a magazine fed shotgun would he a good way forward,

Benelli M2.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Mossberg 500 here. Bomb-proof and none of that paw-trapping silliness. ;)

Cheap pump = hatsan escort (I have one, and for £300 it's great!)
Slightly more expensive pump = Benelli supernova (fastest loading pump gun)
Cheap semi = Stoeger M3000 (£690 from riflecraft, it's basically an M2)
Expensive(ish) semi = M2

Box fed = Bora 99
