I think that you know the answer to that question.

I have no feeling for metric lengths I can estimate yards, feet, inches, chains, furlongs, poles, miles etc but mms, cms, ms, kms leave no pictures of distance in my head.

Metric is like decimal coinage, I need to convert it to pounds, shillings and pence for it to make any sense and have practical meaning.

So for me metric is very clumsy and not really worth the effort when I have a perfectly good Imperial system that works.

i think you'll find moa and mil are angular measurements not distance

I have a very good handle on both systems thanks but that's my choice rather than be a curmudgeon and deliberately obtuse about different methods ? It improves a person to be open minded?

You say they translate into distance and yes you could do that but my point still stands that they are angular measurements and treated as such there usage is simplified.

if anyone else whos reading this would like to chip in and tell me if i'm belittling dromia then i'm more than happy to apologise because that was not my intention?

I originally posted a reply to your and i quote 'infernal mils' statement ?

mils or moa makes no difference to me i use both but personally but i find 10's easier to deal with, for example 1/2 a mile is 880 yds, a yard is 36" and an inch is divided into various parts 1/2 or a 1/4 or an 1/8 right down to thou (strangely they went metric for that one?) whereas a half k is 500m a metre is 100cm a cm is 10mm and so on , i know which one has easier sums!

no malice here by the way , if we ever meet lets have a chat over a couple of 568ml of beer? (some things are defo better in old money!)

I met with these guys at the shooting show today, Bentley sold me a scope and both he and the boss man (forgot his name) gave us great service. They helped me to work out the right scope for me and the whole experience was heavily laced with a good dose of banter (both ways!). clapclap :lol:

+1 for Riflecraft,picked up a Strikefire red dot scope and had a good look at the Stoeger M3000 they were helpful and friendly. My friend and myself came away having placed an order for a Stoeger sign92 each!
