I offered and fully expected to pay for the followers and for the postage but no joy.
It seems that once they have your cash ... you are on your own, particularly if you live on the UK side of the pond.

Mezzer,

thats a little unfair, a lot of companies will not deal with people outside of the states due to the export licenses & paper work they have to go through, yes it is a real PITA but that is what we have to put up with as we don't live 'in the land of the free' :grin:

Does this kit give you the enchanced followers?

if not tried Midway UK and the 10rd BDMs they have?

Ginger;

Nothing unfair about it buddy. I'm merely reiterating my experience with Black Dog and their products to date. The mission statement on their website opening page promises an awful lot but just hasn't delivered in my case although your mileage may vary. I appreciate the links you provided but it's not what I'm looking for .... I don't need the full mags as I already have four and I won't throw away any more money on garbage. Hopefully, I will have some modified followers soon courtesy of one of the forum members who has contributed to this thread. (Thanks mate :good: )

Hmm. This is the first negative Sig 522 thread that I have come across and is seriously pushing me in the direction of the M&P 15-22. I had decided on the 522 for the same "will shoot anything" title that all reviewers have bestowed upon it, and ironically the dust proof Black Dog mags as compared to the 15-22's proprietary open mag. I am now having second thoughts about making it my first .22 "tactical" rimfire. I was going to pick up one of the newer 522 SWAT models with the updated Swiss folding stock.

I have a 15-22 and love it, my friend had a Sig 522 and sold it as he had many, many feed problems no matter what mags he tried. On the topic of mags, I think the 15-22 mags are about as good as they get. Easy to load, very robust (dropped them on all sorts of surfaces with no breakages) and completely come apart for easy cleaning. Sorry to derail the thread slightly.

Fled;

Since fitting the new followers (black in colour), I've put 300 rounds down the range via 3 x magazines and had 3 feed failures. I expect that would be about average for .22 rimfire but other than that, the Sig is now performing as it should. Apart from the lack of service from Black Dog themselves, I'm now highly delighted that I have a functional rifle that is a whole load of fun.

Good to see the new followers are helping but I don't think 3 feed failures in 3 mags is average, my S&W M&P 15-22 has only ever had 2 and it's shot around 7 to 10,000 rounds.

I've probably put 1000 rounds of minimags and RWS semi-auto through mine so far and I think I've only had one feed failure and that was from a fully loaded 10 round mag that I don't really use anymore.

Guys;

Believe me, if your rifle had been performing as badly as mine was before I changed out the followers, you would think you had just won the lottery with only 3 ftf in 300 rounds! I'm hoping that it'll improve somewhat as it beds in but in the meantime, I'll happily accept those 3 errant rounds.
