Re: 155 AMax for 1000 yards
Most of the 'effective' F/TR guys are using 155 Lapua, new 155 Sierra or 155.5 Berger (now ruled out on cost and availability grounds by most of us).
A few are experimenting with heavier bullets like the 185 Berger (seen any lately?) or even 200gn Matchkings.
Very little winning done with anything in between - i.e 168 or 175gn.

Re: 155 AMax for 1000 yards
I know one person using the 185 Berger to great effect at 1000/1200 and I have a few to try at some point. Berger bullets are ridiculously expensive by the time they get to us here in the UK, especially when you consider the 155.5's I have just purchased were GBP23/100 before shipping and tax etc.
I could find them cheaper but not get them shipped over.

That's not too bad - you should get them for around £30 plus whatever he charges for postage and packing.

USD54 for 1200 bullets. If it goes to plan it *might* be a bargain.Gun Pimp wrote:That's not too bad - you should get them for around £30 plus whatever he charges for postage and packing.
