Re: Hello from Newcastle
There's a place in north York's that does shotgun work as far as I know, can't attest to the quality though. I'll find the name if you want. Welcome to the forum :-)

Try Gilsan sports or spencers spring goods. One of them should be able to help you out.

Welcome!sherwood81 wrote:Thanks for the info everyone, I will certainly be looking to join at least one of the clubs mentioned. I think Sunderland would be the closest but wasn't sure how frequently they got together for PSG, by the sounds of it they do it quite regularly so that works for me :-)
PSG with the Mayfair club is every last Saturday of the month. The good news is that its a 10am start so you don't need to get out of bed at the crack of dawn! You'll need to contact the club before attending unless you know a member who can verify your competence with a shotgun before you can shoot. If you can't its nothing too onerous, you just attend the club and go through a couple of basic firearms handling sessions.
The Mayfair is the only PSG club in the NE, and as mentioned the next closest is Carlisle Small Arms Club at Newby East in Cumbria.
Bradford Stalker in CLS or Bagnall and Kirkwood in Newcastle will do a basic service on a shotgun, but nothing you couldn't do yourself after a quick trawl through Youtube

Re: Hello from Newcastle
Welcome,
I've also heard good reports about Wheldon Gun Room (half way between Longhorsley and Longframlington) too but haven't had any work done there myself (although I did buy my shotgun through them and they were first rate to deal with).
