.2RF Scope

Hello,

Once again, please forgive the newbie question.

I'm mentally putting together a .22RF rifle for indoor 25m / 50m target shooting and was wondering what sort of scope those with experience would recommend? Do all scopes focus down to such a short distance? Occasionally I see scopes marked as AO (Adjustable Objective?), but I'm not sure what this means. Very rarely do I see minimum focus distance on the specifications of scopes.

As ever, thoughts appreciated.

I'm a newbie but I got a 1-4x24. I don't think any more mag than that is needed.

AO = Adjustable Objective indeed. Means that you can (easily) change the distance at which the scope is parralax free/in focus.

For that sort of usage I've got a Hawke Sport HD on my two rimfires (a 3-9x40 and a 3-9x50 IIRC). Cheap and cheerful end of the spectrum but more than good enough for that sort of usage- build seems OK and I use them at 100yards occasionally without grief.

Minimum focus distance marked on them is 15 yards but will go down beyond that (one may be marked 35feet?)

As Zanes says the Hawke sport HD are cheap and cheerful and do the job nicely IMO.
I'd get AO if you plan on going down to 25m as the none AO are set at 50m AFAIK. It's not a massive difference but it could affect a perfect score Plus there's only about £10 in it.
If you buy it from a shop double-check it's the right model. I travelled for an hour to a place advertising a 3-9x40 AO only to find it was none-AO they had in :(

I bought one of these for my .22 and I'm very pleased with it. Mine came with the QD mounts too. I only use it at Bisley on Melville 25y and 50y. Minimum focus is 3 yards, I can just about hit the target at that range. tongueout

These are not bad little scopes, I have one here waiting to be mounted and tried out on my rimfire when I get around to it. Bit surprised at the price though, converted from sterling to dollars it works out at $243 for a $90 scope and that's with the quick release rings as well. While I understand import fees and overheads and the likes, someone somewhere is taking the pi$$ at that price.
