Re: .22 rimfire for Badger
My choice would be:
BSA Sportsman. Lovely accurate British classic rifle. Great lightweight bunny-basher.
or
M1 Carbine clone. Just because I love the look of them.

How about an AR7?
Take down and stores barrel and receiver in the butt with 2 mags. It floats and can be packed in a small rucksack with the picnic.

Arming the Country, one gun at a time.

Browning T-bolt? Lovely little rifle and quite unique - my sone has just bought one, we love it.

Badger,
Check out Stonehenge Arms web-site.
They have an interesting Beretta dual action .22 rifle made in the 1950's
If you leave the bolt handle in the horizontal position, it is a semi-auto, alternatively, you can use the rifle as a bolt action in the normal way
A dealer buddy has one and I had a lot of fun firing it. The one I fired had a 25 round detachable mag.
It was a well made reliable, quirky little rifle.

You ain't kidding there - I'm still drooling over a 6.5mm Mannlicher-Schönauer I saw there, exactly the same model as the one I should never have sold.meles meles wrote:That's an awesome website ooman ! Our piggy bank is squealing at the sight of it...

I noticed a pump action BSA on the Stonhenge site. I have had one of these for many years: it always works flawlessly and is very accurate.
