Hey Snowy, welcome to the forum. 9lbs is just about bang on 4kgs

Re: Parker Hale .303" Lee Enfield No 4 Sporter conversion
Thanks for the answers. 9lb = 4.08kg so my guess wasn’t far off especially since you included the sling. My first impression was your scope looked a bit high off the comb, but if the sight line suits the shooter then that’s perfect. I’ve been looking at the different mounting options and I’ve come across a couple that look very high!

As for the rifle, it’s the definitely the nicest looking PH No.4 I’ve seen. I still see the odd one advertised for sale down here, like this one I spotted on the usedguns website last week.
Not as pretty as dromia's but if I find one that's a good shooter I'd love to bring it up to scartch aesthetically. Somthing like that would have a lot more character than a plastic Remchester with a great big logo moulded into the side of the stock... yuck!- dromia

Its not as high as it looks, the Armalon is quiet a low mount. I've got a short neck and can't shoot well with high mounts, thats why I never kept my Moisin Nagant or Swedish M41 sniper rifles as I couldn't shoot them well due to high scope mounting. The Armalon and the raised comb on my PH sporter suits me just fine.

Back to my No4 sporter idle hands over the bank holiday, I decided not to go with the scout scope option for the time being and stick with the reciever mount anyway it left the scope mounted too high for a proper cheek weld, so I thought it would be nice to make a cheek piece rather than fork out £50, the first problem was no hardwood about so how about this for improvisation I had an old pick axe handle in the van after a few hours cutting and fettling here it is, its a bit light (colour) but im sure it will darken in timebut anyway it does what it is supposed to do

Hi,
Thats a cracking rifle you have there, I have just added an original 5 round mag for your rifle in the "for sale" section, let me know and I will post a couple of pics, if you are interested.
Cheers, John.
