Tightening up the G22 trigger

Took the g22 out again yesterday and it reminded me to have a look at the trigger.
Because it's a bullpup there is a linkage between the trigger and the trigger group.
There are 2 things wrong with it as I see it. First is too much travel before you start to engage the trigger, it's a massive amount on this firearm!
I've eliminated most of this by making a shim (read: bent bit metal) that holds the trigger back closer to the engagement point. There's still about 3mm left of play so I might look at a set screw or another shim, can't go too far though or the firing mechanism won't reset.


The second problem is the linkage; it bends under the resistance from the trigger group, I've tried a terminal screwdriver (13mm handle, it was handy) jammed in where it bends the most and it makes quite a difference, hopefully I'll get time to knock something up for that, if I can dig up some delrin or nylon.
So 2 simple mods could improve it greatly, why don't the manufacturers cotton on?

The trigger has never bothered me or my son, for that matter - as long as it's minute of rabbit we're happy.

I also read of someone making a whole new linkage out of a stiffer metal - thought about doing the same but decided life was too short to bother.

It's deff not as bad as a lot of people like to make out, I just like to tinker :-)
I saw the cardboard trick, seems to work well. I was also considering a new bar but I've chatted with the guy who did the one on YouTube and it interferes with the safety so that's on hold :-)
