Re: AR build
Definitely possible but you have some 'fun' with your FLD if they're not up to speed on AR's and how they go together :cool2:

Re: AR build
Is it best to stick with complete rifles as far as the FLD are concerned then?
I was hoping to have one lower (Milspec)
Two uppers .223 and .22LR
Would that be a problem?
Obviously the .22 LR upper will be self loading and the .223 straight pull.

Re: AR build
We don't use CMMG lowers at all, never have.
We make our own lowers and uppers too.

Re: AR build
As already remarked your local FLO might not understand what you are asking for, so complete rifles are always easier. But you could buy a .22 LR complete and then add a .223 upper ( or vice-versa)Grahamcs wrote:Is it best to stick with complete rifles as far as the FLD are concerned then?

After some explanation and emailing of pictures, Surrey accepted "barelled action" as suitable FAC wording to acquire an upper, but no doubt local practice varies.

AR 15 (is it Paul?)
Apologies. It was a question not a statement and I didn't mean to offend or spread false info.
Do you have an image of your current lowers.
There seem to be two different lowers on the website images.
One seems to look sharp and machined and the other smoother.
Are these two different processes?
Can a person dictate which one when ordering a complete rifle?
I'm learning still so bear with me.

Re: AR build
I'm pretty sure there is a chap on here that has built his own from importing bits from the US. Try a cheeky search, I've looked into dropping a .22 upper onto my current 5.56 but as i want to .22 for plinking I reckon I'd just go for an off the shelf solution as it would be purely for the fun aspect

AlexTwoGun now known as Grizzly is the man PM him he should be able to provide lots of advice on home AR builds.
Re: AR build
C&G Firearms import HERA arms and they are able get individual parts, lowers etc.Grahamcs wrote: Does anybody know who imports Hera lowers and uppers into the UK?
Re: AR build
Earlier stuff was forged, as is the CMMG, the current rifle is billet.Grahamcs wrote:AR 15 (is it Paul?)
