22 mod

Today I tried to put a mod on my AR-15, the mod was the right size but the thread wasn't, im thinking that if its an American made gun it must have an American thread, is there an adaptor that I can get to fit my rifle so I can fit a uk mod to ?

Yes...

The American threads are UNEF - 1/2" x 28
British threads are UNF - 1/2" x 20

Dedicated moderators do exist.

Failing that, look online now you know what the threads are...or find a mate with a lathe that can maoe one for you

Thanks a lot mate, the mod im after I think they call it a Sak, one of the lads at our club had one on yesterday, and when he pulled the trigger you could hear a pin drop, it was well impressive.

You do get a SAK with 1/2" x 28 TPI (UNEF), just ask for that specific thread from your RFD.

Almost what Saddler said.
They are most likely both Unified threads (UN).

The standard 22rf thread is 1/2"UNF (Unified fine - 20 threads per inch) although there are others available this is the most common for 22RF rifles.
The standard for an AR style rifle is 1/2"UNEF (Unified extra fine - 28 tpi).
There is a UNC (course) thread at 13tpi, though that's not relevant here.

There are adaptors available but if you haven't already got a mod, ask for one with the right thread to start with.

These are both Unified threads, not British or American, etc. although the Unified Thread Standard (UTS) is regulated and defined by ANSI in America.
