I know that as it was designed in 95-96 and polymer furniture was the norm, as it was with the later production AK-74 and the AK-100 series.The same can be said for the Dragunov, there was a transitional version that retained the wood laminate stock combined polymer handguards and then they changed to a polymer stock/handguards combination.

Well, I popped over to CPG on friday lunchtime to have a look at possibly buying a 10/22...

but..

John brought out a selection of other .22's.

The STG44... wow... weighs more than several 10/22 strapped together. But what a rifle! It definitely has presence.

Then the Tanfoglio, definately furturistic with instantly changeable bolt side! Lightweight, almost pistol like.

Oh... an MP40 with folding stock and long mag. Looks the part and makes you wish it was full auto.

Then there were a selection of awesome AR15 customs.

Oh... and an L1A1...

I basically left thinking.... "damn, I need to have more slots"....

My experience with the STG is that it's bordering on being too heavy and also needs an optic solution to maintain long term interest. I'm looking in the second of these with a long eye relief scope and also going to the gym more.

I concur it looks s***, why didn't they make a Sten Mk. II(S) or a Mk.6 which would have incorporated a suppressor, would h e looked so much better

Fairly tempted to go for the ARX160 in .22LR.

Can someone confirm/deny that the real counterpart has a 16" barrel? All the .22 ones I've found seem to have an 18" barrel - and that's a deal breaker for me.
