Marks on SXP Receiver face.

#1 Post by bigfathairybiker »

Hi All,

Just got a new SXP 12g but I'm unsure if the marks on the receiver face are "fitting" marks or tat they shouldn't be there.

The mark is on the right hand side of the photo.
Notice that it looks like both sides were the same and the inside edge has been chiselled.
Also where the metal is much thinner it is very very slightly bent outwards.

Is this normal?

Mark

Well, Jon at CPG said that this is normal because of the Turkish assemblers basically bash fit the barrel to the receiver. I have used some black marker pen to make it look better. But as Jon said, "just shoot it".. So I probably will.

If you bought a new gun and took it back to the same shop for a PX, and it looked like that because YOU had messed with it.............the shop would knock ££ssssss off the price of it.

To sell a BRAND NEW gun with fiddle marks on it is absolutely dire. :o :o :o

Personally I would ask for my money back and buy something else.

The fact is, in the big scheme of things, it's a cheap shotgun. It's parts are made in Japan and Belgium and it's assembled in Turkey...

How does it shoot?
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!

Oh... I wish I knew.. My clubs shotgun range isn't open till next Sunday!
I've been told that there is a range open all week at Brampton, but you need two people present.
One to shoot and one to operate the traps.
I'm off work all this week, just need to find a button pusher..
