As with the .30 U.S. Carbine, the sights on the AR-15 are good and the trigger is terrible. I don’t see any sporting potential for this piece, but I may be overlooking something. If one disregards its astronomical price ($200 by the time you’ve bought a couple of extra magazines) it seems a very nice arm for second-line combat or defensive use

2MOA group @ 200 yards: diameter 2", radius 1"

Good point Charlie... I was getting confused with a 1 MOA group, which is 1 inch at 100yds...

However, I follow your reasoning that a 1 MOA gun will shoot within an inch of the aiming point at 100yds, and so a 2 inch diameter group, but in that case a 2 MOA gun will have a 4 inch diameter group at 200 yds... ??

It makes sense I suppose, but it's a damned awkward way of expressing MOA. Don't think I have ver heard it put that way before.

Not quite, a 1MOA group will be 1" diameter (edge-to-centre-to-edge), i.e. rounds will land up to 1/2" from mean point of impact.

As DaveB points out, a rather awkward way to describe group sizes!
