Martini action .310 Cadet rifle.

#1 Post by Jenks »

I was shooting at Moodys Down this morning. 300 yards perfect conditions. Took the LRS2 and my beautiful Fazakerley No4 . I also took my grandson. his second visit. His young eyes proved a bonus in the Butts spotting the 5.56mm bullet holes in the black. The other chap working the target asked Josh if he got to shoot. I pointed out that at three hundred yards it wasn't really on. especially as up to now he has only shot my air rifle. He said he had the perfect rifle for him to introduce him to full bore rifle shooting. After we finished he showed
the rifle. It was a Martini actioned .310 cadet rifle. What a little beauty It was in mint condition. I am a huge fan of the action I would love to have one. I do have a Greener Martini action 12 gauge, which I play with occasionally. He has offered to let Josh have a go the next time we shoot at 100 yards. I will have to introduce josh to my .22 Rimfire I have some .22 short with disintegrating bullets that might fit the bill.

Martinis are great, especially for new shooters -- there is something incredibly direct with them. No magazines to fall off, leave at home or forget is loaded. Direct access to the chamber with any size fingers. Available in all sorts of sizes from tiddly RF up to empire-building.

Plenty of unloved but well made .22 Martinis available for not much more than the price of an Xbox game if you were inclined to purchase one on his behalf...
