Boyd Evolution Stock

#1 Post by Dda1000 »

Hello.

Does anyone have any experience of Boyd Evolution Stocks on a 10/22?

I am interested in using one for LWSR and wondered what people thought of them...

Thanks

Nice stock. Its the common choice for custom gallery rifle builds
However...
If your only shooting right handed then I would look at the blaster or the barracuda if its available again.
Both can be played with to make them ambi.
Comb height on the evo is too low and they need adjustable buttpad fitted dropped to its lowest.
Then its a great stock
Out of the box I prefer the blaster as the pistol grip is more upright and comb height is better.
Only needs the thumbhole elongated slightly and comb radiused a bit to be able to shoot it lefty.
Ive got a thumbshelf cut in so right handed the thumbs in there. Left handed i shoot thumb up. In the shelf.

Thanks Tony.

What type of adjustable but pad would you suggest?

The bisley one they sell on ebay is quite good. Baseplate needs fitting and trimming but not that difficult
