Ruger American Rimfire 22

New Gun appeared last night...Ruger American Rimfire. Very impressed, thought at first it was a Sako Quad Synthetic as it was lying next to one, but no, a nice bolt action Gun, shoots very well, maybe not as accurate as the Sako but acceptable.

Uses ruger 10.22 mags as well.

Well worth a look at £400. And half the price of the Sako.

This is an anniversary or special edition version maybe? I do remember skimming an article on it a while ago and liking the stock module interchangeability.

£400! Crikey! It's £165 ($250) in the states. Does it really cost that much to bring something like this over? Not meant to be a dig at anyone, I don't know who's selling it and what it really costs.

Yep* Someone once listed what was involved, and between the importer's cut, taxes, shipping and factoring in the costs of the warranty support provided, it wasn't far off... Of course the US pricing has to be competitive for the domestic market so that's where it is pitched. Everyone knows we pay a lot here so they don't mind the sticker price hike :)

*The American Rimfire in .22lr is generally available at £369. Still a lot but not unreasonable really given the apparent performance and handy nature of magazine interchangeability with 10/22s

That's cool thanks. It really does look like a nice rifle, I like the stock an 10/22 magazines!
