New member from Co. Durham

#1 Post by redcat »

I came across this forum by accident while searching for something else. Initial impression is that it's a friendly place and seemingly has many knowledgeable members. Hope I can contribute.
I am a 70-year old shooter (plinker?) whose main interest is in 19th century American firearms and their modern reproductions, although I can appreciate most types and I'm always willing to learn something new.
For the past sixteen years or so I have written firearms reviews for magazines, firstly for Target Sports and currently for Gun Mart, usually aimed at muzzle loaders and repros of the above mentioned American rifles. I have also done a little collecting of these old pieces, specialising in Colt handguns, although funds now no longer make that a viable proposition and most of the stuff has been sold or is in the process of selling.
Anything else you want to know just ask, although I won't guarantee to answer personal questions!
