Looking for full-bore shooting club in Yorkshire

#1 Post by OpenFerret »

Hi all!

I'm no stranger to firearms, due to military service, but I'm just starting out with full-bore target rifle shooting. I'm currently in Lincolnshire, but I'm looking to move to join my girlfriend in the East Riding of Yorkshire and take my FAC with me. I have 1 x .308 rifle on it, and I've just placed an order for a new Remington 700 (Police) model. Very much looking forward to getting that!

Can anyone point me in the right direction for a suitable shooting club in the East Riding area? Google has not been my friend in this case, and although I will be staying as a member with my current club in Lincolnshire, it is a long drive just to get some shooting time at the weekend.

Many thanks for any advice in advance!

Diggle, not too close but worth the drive.

Some clubs shoot at Strensall in York. I'm in Harrogate and my clubs are Diggle (Oldham) & Rossendale (Burnley)
Travelling an hour and a half each way is now normal for me lol

I will go and introduce myself now!

I think that Diggle is slightly too far for me. I've attached a .jpeg to show the sort of area I'm looking at, give or take a few miles or so.

Strensall (York) is within range (hehe). Look at the Yorkshire rifle association for details and to see who uses it.

Pickering is supposed to have a fullbore outdoor range but haven't found any details on it as yet...

I'm interested in the results of your search, living around the top edge of your circle :)

Welcome by the way!
