Hello from Cambridge

#1 Post by TomH »

Hi,

The names Tom. I found this great forum one lunchtime whilst Googling Lee Enfield. You see I have had an itch since I saw one as a kid in 1969. I mostly shot with airguns and shotguns as a kid until my mid twenties and then had a long break due to work, wimmin and other hobbies like motorbikes. Last year I re-applied for my SGC after deciding I was perhaps getting a bit old for wobbling round a scrambles track on an old BSA and falling off on a regular basis.

Reading this forum has shown me whats out there in terms of clubs, guns and shooting disciplines and you look a friendly, helpful and knowledgeable bunch. Seems I need to join a club and do the probation as a first step and decide what disciplines are the ones for me.

Best Regards

Tom

Welcome to F-B(UK) you sound a bit like me although the 'bikes came a bit earlier with MX and Enduro in the 70's however I did spend a while on the obligatory Husaberg SM and then back to Enduro until about 5 years ago. These days I am happy enough to let my son do the racing and he has just finished his first year with TBEC with a creditable 11th in the E2 class which is acceptable for hist first year, especially considering he has not ridden an Enduro or similar until a couple of months before he started the season.

I also used to run a CCM so I hope you kept the BSA just in case....

Welcome, Tom. If you want to learn about shooting this looks like the place to come.

Thanks for the welcome folks!

Much respect to Enduro riders ovenpaa, all that crazy speed without walking the track first.
