UKPSA Safety Course

Is anyone interested in having one?

My reason for asking is that I'd like to shoot in UKPSA comps this year but I need to do the safety course to compete, the next available one is May (which I cant make anyway) which pretty much means I cant shoot in the first part of the season.

I've got my own range at home which would be suitable for shotgun/mini rifle training (we use it for corp events) are there any UKPSA safety course instructors on here willing to come and do a training course for me and any others who might also like to do it?

I'm asking here as I still cant access the UKPSA forum and with time marching on I'm getting a bit desperate.

Ask the NRA (they do Target Shotgun Assessments and Intro Courses) or on the F4i forum they should be able to point you in the right direction.

U can shoot at a Level 1 match without one definately (rather you could the last time I checked) and the postal league (IIRC) you may even be able to do level 2 matches - check me on that last point though?

Your best bet for UKPSA instructors is try the UKPSA forum - are you a member of the UKPSA yet?

Failing that why not try F4i? I'm a member of both and they both run matches - F4i has slightly different take on things generally.....

I didnt think it fair to post on 4islands as I know the owners of that site have some bad blood with UKPSA (I keep out of it). I would post on UKPSA but I cant as I still dont have access despite joining, I assume it just takes time which is fair enough.

I've tried to get on the Feb course but its full and wait listed so have been told that wont happen. I want to shoot the level 3 matches, hence I need the safety course, but if there arent any safety courses its kind of hard to do that.

I appreciate that this is all volunteer time hence my idea of doing a course at my range and I pay for it, otherwise theres little point me joining something where I cant compete at a level I'd like to.

Haha - I didn't mean ask on f4i for a UKPSA instructor, I meant ask for any shoots where you could participate regardless! My bad I should have been clearer!

The objective is to get you safe and upto a standard you're happy with, and I'd wager not shooting at all whilst waiting for a course is worse than shooting F4i matches whilst waiting for a UKPSA course - all the fun you can be having whilst waiting for a course!!


You're right though there has been a bit of bad blood between those two organisations, but find me two shooting organisations that have anything good to say about each other!!

I keep out of all the politics, I'm only recently into the sport so any history of bad blood is beyond me, but you're right, a more polarised bunch of people outside of shooting would be hard to find!

UKPSA have got in touch now which is great so hopefully I can get something together to allow me to compete.

Ah sorry, you said corp. meaning corporate clearly! I thought you meant corps as in army
