My ARX160 is great.safetyfirst wrote:Are those umarex guns actually any good? I've seen the 416 which seems ammo fussy, shoots about 2 MOA and for some reason they've put their own hard to alter or repair internals in an AR15 body, not a wheel that need much more reinventing.
I've always been a bit wary of them.
Any good reports out there?

Ditto - mine is the most reliable gun I have, will shoot and cycle everything I've tried through it.Blackstuff wrote:Oh FFS i've got a wedding to pay for this year

I had one of the Walther/Umerex M4 carbines and it was a pain to clean etc because of the internals were fixed in, I won't buy another. .

The Umarex guns have come some way, they have changed the bolt groups and the barrels are now all solid unlike the older models which were paper thin with a shroud to make it look like the original guns. The ARX160 is a good piece of kit, it shoots well and I have not had any reliability issues with it whatsoever. That being said, the triggers aren't great and there is no room for improvement in the design, if you want a fun plinking gun or are not too concerned in regards to the trigger then they are absolutely fit for purpose.

To plasticky for my taste.

Well....I promised to report on first time shooting the Beretta ARX160 .22LR.
Have a club shoot today and the gun went with NO problems at all.
I fired only 250 rds, deliberate, rapid and in between from both the 20rd and the 30rd mags. They also dropped out easily as well.
I achieved my best score for awhile, far better than I did with my S&W MP15-22. The rifle has an 18" barrel (maybe this helped) and I found it Very, Very , accurate.
Do I like this gun ?......YEAH !!!!
(ps, sold my MP15-22)

There's not many guns I dislike the look of, but this is one - too much plastic, looks like an "airsoft" copy.

...and yet it's a .22LR copy of the the ARX100.nigelc wrote:There's not many guns I dislike the look of, but this is one - too much plastic, looks like an "airsoft" copy.
