M/38 Swedish Mauser 6.5x55 for sale.

The good news

For Sale

6.5x55 1942 M/38 Swedish Mauser made by Husquvarna.

The bad news

The rifle has been sporterised – this sacrilege includes

Timiney trigger,
Screwcut – 1/2UNF,
Drilled and tapped for scope,
Part of the top of the reciever has been ground to accept the scope base,
Iron sights removed,
Bolt ground to accommodate a scope,
Choate Synthetic stock.

Overall I would say this rife is in not bad condition. The bluing is a bit patchy leaving the barrel looking a little shabby, mainly where the rear sight would have been. As it is 6.5x55 it is very accurate and is a pleasure to shoot. The scope mounts (detached for the photos) are Leupold and included. All numbers match, but this an unlikely candicate for restoration for reasons detailed above.

All up it’s a very shootable rifle with a potentially interesting history.

£350 including postage, but I am willing to negotiate. It's for a good cause - my next project! :D
