Sorry to hear about the hands, Adam - I have a tiny bit in one thumb and that's irritating enough. Hopefully any deterioration will be V_E_R_Y slow. Does this mean there is some reloading gear going cheap? :)

If you think you are a person of some importance, try ordering someone else's dog around.
It is possible now to have multi focal lens replacements for cataracts. Another option is monovision where they put a distance lens in the dominant eye and near in the non-dominant and then let the brain sort it all out. Complete bugger if they put them the other way round by mistake.
I don't think you will get a multi focal lens on the national health. You would have to sell your kidneys and pay to go private. They are not keen on doing the monovision thing either. Every body I know who has had it done got single vision distance lenses put in. It can also screw you up for iron sights as well.

Aye - is that the one you got as part of a set: earings, ankle bracelet & necklace all included in the box?
Geoff said you looked right nice in it when ya called into see him yesterday, though he was wondering if the summer frock was too much seeing as there's still snow on the ground

Multi focal would be private but you only need one kidney

Here in Bedfordshire they fit a standard lens and there is a 6 month gap between operations. If you go private they can offer a variety of different options and they will do both eyes on the day if needed.
It is only my right eye that is a problem at the moment and the difference is my sight has deteriorated quite rapidly, -6,5 to -8,5 in around 15 months plus colours are now noticeably washed out when viewed from that eye.
