Roosters Intro

#1 Post by Rooster »

Hi everyone.

Why the name Rooster, well I used to play a boing game called High Noon and Rooster was my nickname. For those who have not played HN or HN2 it's a very addictive fast draw game where you challenge players all around the world. Like many phone games it's free to start but once you get hooked it's expensive, very expensive, over a three year period I spent around £500 - £600 playing it (hope my wife does not read this), eventually getting in the top 100 in the world. Not bad when you consider that around 4 million play it.

I started "real" shooting when I was 15 in the North East, or to put it another way, 43 years ago. I started shooting .22 LR, competing up to County Team level. I was also County 10m Air Rifle Team Captain for Northumberland. As I moved around the country for work I had the pleasure of being a member of several clubs in South Wales, Shropshire and now Worcestershire.

I took early retirement 2 1/2 years ago when I turned 56 and now have more time to devote to my hobbies. I recently decided to give up "serious" competitive Smallbore and Fullbore shooting and take a more relaxed, fun attitude towards shooting. I have recently converted my HPS Gemini .308 from a TR to an FTR. I also enjoy mini rifle competitions at my home club with my HK 416 .22 and as soon as my new licence renewal starts at the end of this month I will be collecting a shiney new Marlin 1894 .44 and Baretta 1301 Comp 9+1.

I'm looking forward to contributing to the forum when able and hope to learn from those experienced members.
