Playing with my Colt last weekend I found that the foresight was definitely in the way of the dot so I'm thinking of fitting a free-float RIS in place of the current handguard.
The bad news I've gleaned from t'internet is that the thread on the Delta-ring is not milspec. The good news is that it is (probably) the airsoft thread instead so although real RIS's won't fit airsoft possibly will. Some sources have mentioned that the Colt is based on an airsoft chassis which makes sense as it's made by Umarex.
First question is has anyone tried to fit an airsoft RIS to the Colt? There is an official one but there isn't any choice and it's £175

Many sources have said that some airsoft kit is perfectly fine on a 22 and certainly appears to be sturdy enough.
Does anyone know if particular kit should be avoided?
Fitting a folding foresight would be an alternative solution but I'm not sure how well that would work.
Any helpful advice would be much appreciated.
