New bullpup rifle

Re: New bullpup rifle
I asked on the facebook page as to what was the intended market for such a gun, the high capacity & semi-auto design would appear to suggest that mini-rifle would be the main one & the designer confirmed it was, this market is already swamped with very capable rifles & the bullpup design is poorly suited to left shoulder shooting positions without a case deflector fitted, if the designer wanted to make money from this market they should simply produce a quality british made AR lower or full package, I have no interest in this design & wont be buying one even if its cheaper than a 15-22 which I doubt.
Re: New bullpup rifle
The price tag of GBP430-500 seems a tad optimistic unless they do hit the anticipated export volumes reasonably quickly. Regardless I wish them well with their venture, it is always good to see a new firearm manufacturer in the UK.spangled wrote:Have any of you noticed the Artemis Sawfly?
Its a rather interesting new design, for which the designer is trying to raise cash to get it off the ground using crowdfunding.

Yep good luck to them, not for me though, I've got an AR 15 .22.

Re: New bullpup rifle
That looks fairly fugly to me, the scope mount is horrendous!. Good job we all like different things :)
There's room for all Gods creatures, next to the mash and gravy :)
Re: New bullpup rifle
There's just no innovation in it, copying current designs and not addressing the needs/wants of their potential user base.
It's sad, because I really do like bullpup :'(

I had a thought to try something like this, only based on a fictional design rather than being just a Streyr clone.
Re: New bullpup rifle
I was going to build one around my mosin, just had to many projects on the go.
I still think a good bullpup, with a good ejection system, reliable high-capacity mags and a decent trigger could do well against the boringly generic ARs.
