Glock LBP

Have the people talking about Glocks shot one, odd grip angle terrible trigger, compared with SA/DA handguns. What do people like about them. I could own one but after shooting one it went to the bottom of my list, I didn't see anything to like about them for a range gun. I can see some reasons why some would carry one for self defense, but not for the range when you have a choice.

Ordnance, I'm not a fan of the Glock, my wife however loves hers. I agree about the trigger and my wife hated it as well. I fitted an after market adjustable trigger ( 2.25 to 3.75lbs). Reduced pre-travel, zero over travel, shortest reset and no pin creep. She loves it and I have to say it is a vast improvement over the factory trigger, Me, I'll stick with my Ruger P345.

Yes, had a G17 back when we could own them & shot IPSC with it, still use one every year in Germany when we visit our friends in Philippsburg.

They are not to everyone's taste & you either love or hate them, the fixed barrel in this new project may improve accuracy & recoil will be low, I would want the lighter trigger kit & extended magazine catch which are both really easy to fit yourself.

For practical pistol comps it should be great, I've got a slot waiting & was going to get a K22 but if this project is going to fly I am more than happy to wait for one, I will be watching this closely.

As said its a matter of choice, the CZ 75 SPO1 would be the most popular here for IPSC. Would modifying a .22 handgun already in production not be cheaper and easier to do.

Ordnance will like this Glock.

I would prefer one of these.

If the SP01 was available as an LBP then I would be very tempted, but I can't ever see it ever happening & I don't see the point of waiting forever, the K22 is functional but the looks are not that great, the 1911 versions out there are either stupidly expensive or made of lesser quality materials, depending on the cost this Glockalike project looks promising, the none Glock frames & parts available in the USA are generally good so should stand up well to our use, good size mag capacity & a decent set of sights & ill be happy.

I had a cabbie on the compact version last week, really nice and smooth and recoil was not bad for a .45 compact.

I have three 9x18 pistols that I all like : a Cz75 Shadow, a Glock 17 and a Sig 226.

Now, what is not to like about the Glock ?
It's cheap, accurate, easy to use. It is a natural pointer and I am being told it is virtually indestructible. The trigger takes a bit of "getting used to" but is not that bad. After the course it does offer a fairly clean break that I like. The glock is not a drama queen and you can feed it any ammo and offer trouble-free shooting even if you don't clean it .
After 4 mths I realize my "out of the box", recently bought, Glock 4th gen with adjustable grip is now getting more range time than the Sig.

Having said that, the Cz is still my fav of the three & by far the one I shoot best with. IMO of all the handguns I tried, one of the best "V for M" 9mm pistol a civi shooter can buy

We won't be able to call it a Glock in Uk as not enough of the parts are factory Glock. current money is on the "X-17" (although that sounds like a plane)
Anything with G & 17 together In the name will be a non starter.
any one got a better name? Keep it clean & sensible! As we (SRCo) are making it is branded as that.
It is ambi already, controls can be left or right.
The 30 round drum mag is a joke, so we won't be selling it. Jam tastic. 10 is standard, 15 optional. We are also doing a mag extender for them, to hopefully give 15/20. This changes the balence hence the adjustable weighting on the bar.
All parts used in making this are considered or sold as Glock up grade parts, fixing the issues that some people don't like.
The game plan is to have a finished demo gun at the Phoenix meet. We just imported a single long gun from usa and it took 1 month door to door to get here. (With a bill of £650) to do it. aaarggh

How about SR-17 (Suffolk rifle 17) or GB-17 (Great Britain) or even 22-17?
