LMT SOPMOD Buttstock - Alternatives?
So, my nice new-to-me Tikka T3 (thank you Pe4king) in the MDT TAC21 chassis is very nice, but, it has the LMT SOPMOD Buttstock fitted.
While everything I can find says they are the dogs danglies for cheek weld with my large objective scope fitted (SIII 8-32x56) I find I need to be about 1cm higher to get the proper eye position.
Having trolled the net I can't see anything listed for a cheek riser to fit it (it's wider than the usual butt stocks) and don't really want to stick something on with glue or stick backed plastic.
Can anyone suggest a reasonably priced alternative with either an optional or adjustable cheek riser?.
I'll also need a new pistol grip as the current ones are in FDE and if I'm changing it I may as well go for boring black!.
This is the sort of tarting up thing I'm looking at, http://www.ukmcpro.co.uk/FAB-Defense-M4 ... 83/562710/

There's room for all Gods creatures, next to the mash and gravy :)

I make leather cheekrests...though I'll wait for someone to suggest one of the Garand lace on cheekrests instead (which were designed to move your cheek to the left, not upwards)

What you really want it is the super awesome Tacmod stock.

Magpul CTR + 3/4" Cheek Riser is what 99% of people use with the LSS and TAC21 (who don't go with the PRS)
Re: LMT SOPMOD Buttstock - Alternatives?
Just replaced the Sopmod on my LMT with a PRS.

I have a black Hogue grip which I originally bought from MDT with my Tac21 since replaced with a FDE Ergo has seen very little use.

I have the Fab Defense M4 stock with riser for my VZ58 (bought from Zahal).
It's a good bit of kit IMO and would recommend.
If you get the GL shock/GL Mag version you can also buy a rear mono pod options if that floats your boat.

I have a UBR stock on mine (it's OK though - I have an adjustable cheek).breacher wrote:Just replaced the Sopmod on my LMT with a PRS.
