1864

Anyone watched it?

I asked my Mum about it when I first heard of it and she was not impressed so I was not expecting much when we sat down yesterday evening to watch the first episode. We both thought it was really good and watched episode two as well. Looking forward to the next two episodes on next Saturday.

I've watched the whole series so the fact that I watched through is an endorsement.

Yes I know about the battle and that is what the mini series 1864 revolves around.

However i was wondering what the word meant, if anything?

Just wondered as my family lived in a pre-clearance settlement called Dubbel in the Strath of Kildonan. It is pronounced just as it is in the Danish in the series.

I saw part of 1er episode & the second in full. The story line is a bit slow paced but I guess matching the farmers' rural life rhythm. The compulsory gypsie PC B-Sh*t is so lazy & complacent that it becomes caricatural & thoroughly annoying. Never-the-less so far it is enjoyable & aesthetically the quality of the photography is brilliant (and I am not only talking about Inge's shape). With 8 episodes I am bound to miss some, not sure if I'd buy the box set to catch up.
