Thats what I thought, its a Benelli shotgun that is made in Turkey but seems to get good reviews.

The Stoeger is by no means perfect.. but then show me a factory shotgun which is perfect out of the box for PSG. Plus it's CHEAP.

However, the Stoeger can be made into a proper race gun easily and cheaply.. I love mine, and won't be getting shot of it! I expect I will get rid of my Supernova first (damn pumpers elbow!)

I thought the whole point of IPSC with the different divisions was so people could start with standard gear, upgrade and then enter the fully customised divisions later anyway?

Too right. I thought the JM would have been the best option, which is why I was one of the first in the UK to own one. The Stoeger cost me less and is already past the spec of my old JM.

One thing I will say for the JM, it works for lefties, the tang mounted safety is cheapest option for the left hooker.

There's more to PSG than just IPSC.

It *can* be used out of the box. But to get the most of it, it needs a few tweaks.

There are different IPSC divisions that place restrictions on what you can and cannot do to/put on a gun but its got nothing to do with getting newbies started.

As Techguy says, most guns will run OK out of the box but you need to tune them to get the most out of them, within the (IPSC or other) parameters of the division you're shooting in.

What spec are you running on your Stoeger?

I like mine although it's ammo fussy. Have watched perform while JMs and M2s have died!
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!

My 870 works every time!! green55
It also uses 20% less powder than someone I met at a shoot using an 1100, who home loaded identical slugs to mine.

Mine has a +5 nordic extension (but having them all in stock, I change this often), loading port recessed and bevelled by me, internal parts polished where required and that's about it. Run's 28g 7.5's pretty happily..

Will be replacing the lifter and safety with a TTi version when I get around to bringing them in!
