Hi,
Just wondering what MV owners of the 14" Anschutz .22 are getting using sub-sonic ammunition? I tend to get an average of 1025ft/s using RWS subs in my 16" CZ455, but am considering the shorter 1417 mainly for the slicker bolt and trigger, however don't want to lose too much MV as a result going over to a 2" drop in barrel length,
Cheers,
Chris

Re: 14" Anschutz 1417 muzzle velocity?
I have a 1417 in. 22, thumbhole stock, I considered chopping for a new finnfire 2 but decided ide be a fool if I did, I don't know what the mv are but I can tell you at 50m I can get em all in a 50p peice with winchester subsonic...
When someone says "it's not about the money" you know what? it probably is all about money!
Re: 14" Anschutz 1417 muzzle velocity?
Some chrono results for the Finnfire II seemed to have even lower MV's with subs than the 1417, probably due to drag on the bullet down that 22" tube.
Re: 14" Anschutz 1417 muzzle velocity?
OK, first test results in, using a new 1417 14" .22. No RWS subs, however initial tests with Eley subs are doing between 1050 and 1065, measured over 5 shots. (Eley state 1040ft/s). Will post the RWS velocities as soon as I can, then accuracy tests.

That's pretty respectable for 14" - new barrel and all, have you got some RWS subs? if not I've got some you can use. Thought that was where you slipped off to
