Nice to see you there mate. Did you buy anything ?

I passed on that Irish Rebublic re-issued SMLE as £850 was too much (the one you saw me look at)
, that is the 2nd one I have passed on now in a year and this too was a mk1 ***.
Was also tempted by a £250 wire wrapped Ishapore as the wood was very dark and the rifle would resemble me a bit... a lash up !

I got this instead

Legit 1945 BSA , lightning cuts inc bottom of the action, hollow bolt, Front band is 8" from rec ring, mirror bore... i'm appy

Looks very nice Dirtbag.

If I was looking fr a No4 MkII with light coloured perfect woodwork and immaculate colour on the receiver together with maybe even target sights, would you say the Tarde Stands art the Phoenix are the place to go?
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!

Good to see you too mate. Yeah that SMLE was nice looking but a tad too pricey. However you havn't done too bad with that BSA, Lovely looking Rifle. Well done
I didn't get anything at all! Dribbling over the Springfield 1903 Sniper over at Kirk Emmerichs stall, Though at £4300 it was staying put! Did you see the 1916 Dated SMLE Sniper on one of the stalls in the main hall?

Takes guts to go there and not buy anything, its hard when you leave isnt it ?

Funnily enough it was Kirk Emmerichs stall, I had been tracking that gun for a few weeks. He gets all his gear from the States, and he does have the odd non import.
£4300 is silly for those springfield guns.

Ta mate, just found m/47 (bsa) on the barrel of it too which is nice to know.
A bloke tapped me on the shoulder when I bought it and I decided to help him get one as he was unsure of what ones were legit and not etc. He ended getting one cheaper than me !! good lad

I also sold my Fin M24 to a dealer for a knockdown as I simply wasnt shooting it enough to warrant a 100m long gun in my cabinet !

There were two SMLE snipers that I saw i the main hall I think one scope was a Aldis scope (fking rare), both millions of pounds, funnily enough 2 years ago I haggled with that bloke for my first mosin nagant sniper with repro scope and he said I cant move on the price or I may as well sell this abroad....it was still there today.

I liked the SMLE#s though... although s*** outa luck for me as Im left handed, and those scopes (ocular) were left side mounted ?

Thanks Mike, I saw some number 4's on the EFD stand, they were unissued Irish Contract rifles, did you see those?

They were so blonde they were practically magnolia enfields !

It was hard leaving with nothing but never mind. Those Springfields are silly money but God they are nice! I wasn't even going to ask how much those SMLE's were.

I also saw those N04s on EFD. Didn't have many Rifles this time though did they. I was tempted with a Mcmillan A5 stock in Green Woodland effect though. Want to start an M40 Sniper Project at some point.
