I started out with a SPS but it only has the action and bolt left now!
The SPS is the cheapest option for the 26" barrel but did you know that as well as the Police model they also do the VS http://www.remington.com/products/firea ... sf-ii.aspx which has a much better stock and a fluted barrel.
Should it be the action that you are after then I would suggest that you keep an eye out on Guntrader for a SH BDL type, some say the old actions were better, some prefer the older triggers, but more importantly you can get one for between £3-400 pounds. Why pay for a new barrel, trigger and stock if you are going to through them away?
On the subject of stocks, I am interested to see what is going to happen when the new AI AX (AICS) becomes available later this year. I wonder if current owners of AICS stocks will be putting them up for sale?
