...every 5th Asylum seeker has one rolled up in his prayer mat!
Never even heard of them.
Got any links to the factory?
Chances are if they are on a par with the lower quality Turkish offerings then Edgars will have them on the radar: low price = better margins

good point, who is checking bags etc...no bugger that's who.
Now if I was a terrorist I'd be all over that like a fat bird on chips.
Also, how much heroin and other crap is coming in to europe to fund their new lives, while we still get harrased bringing 200fags back from Torremalinos !!!!

Re: Turkish Delight ?
Looks like they come with a folding stock as standard and would therefore require an even more ridiculously long barrel than 'normal' to be S1 over here

But like the Bora and Akdal, its operating system is not at all related to the rifle it is copying. They are using the same type of system used on "conventional" semi-auto shotguns and just dressing them up in a faux assault rifle chassis. It is a totally cosmetic exercise.
If I wanted a shotgun with conventional gas system, I would just go for one of the proven ones in a conventional chassis.
I went for the Vepr because the whole thing is basically a 12 bore Kalashnikov. Same receiver, same bolt carrier, same bolt, same gas piston, same piston tube etc etc etc just built bigger to accept the 12 bore cartridge.
To be honest, when one sees how in demand "the look" is, I am amazed that nobody has come out with some sort of drop in chassis for the 1187 etc - like they do for the Ruger 10/22 etc ( a proven system dropped into whatever "assault" type chassis you want )

Re: Turkish Delight ?
I don't think many people buy them on the spec of the operating system, or what they look like* more on the fact they take detachable magazines. i.e. the whole point of them over a tube mag gun
TBH i'm thankful the BR99 doesn't have a direct impingement system like the AR as its a dirty overly complex design. I would've had a Vepr if you could get a sensible length barrel for them (and the mags weren't extortionate - can't really complain about the cost of the gun as i've spent what a competition fit Vepr is on my BR99 )
*They look like "assault chassis" because they have detachable magazines so in a convoluted way that may be the case.

Yes - I see the point regarding wanting a box magazine. Strange how none of the established manufacturers tried to incorporate it into their proven systems.Blackstuff wrote:I don't think many people buy them on the spec of the operating system, or what they look like* more on the fact they take detachable magazines. i.e. the whole point of them over a tube mag gun

You can have the Vepr in 24" if you want. Mags are reasonable if you know where to look.
Re: Turkish Delight ?
The gas system in the V12 is not the same as an AK
It has a small piston that hits the bolt carrier rod to cycle
Non adjustable & over gassed on heavy loads
In all a heavy Saiga 12 with a long barrel (nicer paint job)
