Depends on what you're doing.

I have a 15-22 and a CMMG. Would recommend both. With the CMMG make sure you get the boonie packer mag adapter and use the S&W mags. The S&W mags are pretty much the best .22 Mags on the market for AR type rifles.

Steer clear of the rest...

The smith is plastic and doesn't have any forward assist button on the gun which might put you off and the buffer tube is molded into the reciever of coarse

Doesn't really need the first IMHO but you can't swap buffer tubes or add a sling mount on the buffer if you wanted to. I drilled and tapped straight into the lower to hold a sling (might not be to everyone's taste)

So what ? Does not bother me at all . My Glock is plastic & I never used the Forward Assist.

On the other hand, the CMMG is a true AR, ie : functions, weight, balance etc ... I turned mine into a carbon copy of my French SA one but just happened to be a 22lr one. Actually when getting one, you are really buying 1 and half gun since you can couple it with a 5.56 upper . Not disputing that the S&W is absolutely brilliant, but IMO the CMMG is well worth that little extra money. Among my best "gun money" ever spent :good:

What bambam said. That Colt isn't a real AR, the smith is great on a budget, the CMMG is a great rifle especially once Lantac have tweaked it.

Anything else is luxury end like Lantac Raven or Hera arms.

I have a Sig 522 and find it excellent. Not a single jam or issue in many thousands of rounds now. Accurate too.

The only rimfire AR I would swap it for is a new CMMG improved from Lantac :)

What's your budget and how accurate do you want it to be?

If that is an exhaustive list then the CMMG is probably the most expensive, but it's the best rifle in terms of build quality, value for money and accuracy IMO.

We have a wide choice: S&W MP15-22, H&K G36, CMMG, SIG522, Colt M4 ???. Seems so many to choose from any suggestions.

Want to buy right first time.

Your experiences and suggestions welcome.

Keep your money and practice with what you've got. You've a Glock on the way as well haven't you?

And as said, figure out what you are going to do with it that can't be done with your RM.
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!

Looks like it will be the Lantac CMMG. Is it worth having the shorten barrel ? Easier point and shoot ?
