Well apparently the ferry will be out of action for the next week and it has been confirmed that the tanker integrity was maintained so everyone is happy. Well apart from the people who use the ferry, or are waiting for fuel oil, or the guy that tethers the ferry to the dock or the one that signs the lift system off.
The Limfjord is very famous for it's shell food and Floyd even wrote about it one of his books, the fjord is also a haven for migratory birds so on a serious note it could have had quite an impact locally. I still cannot get over how low the water was, apparently the tanker fell into 3m of water, normally it would have been closer to twice that. The water also freezes for a 100m+ from the shore at this time of year so it will have been bloody cold for the salvage divers who rigged the slings today.
