GSG 1911 .22lr lbp

Re: GSG 1911 .22lr lbp
I have one - for the money it's not bad (mines the v2 slide), seems to cycle most things - accuracy is ok although I'm basing that on nothing other than me finding my taurus easier for me to shoot tighter groups with.
Get more mags, and whilst you're at it get the +4 follower and the +1/+2/+3 mag bases - cos reloading a 10 shot mag over and over gets tediuous quickly.
The sights aren't the best but out the box - they're good enough if you want a fun little plinker.

I'll echo what he said.
I got mine as a plinking toy, it's okay accuracy wise, was playing on a duelling tree at the weekend, accuracy was good enough for that.
Mags- make sure you get the newer version, the older one is a flat base that you'll struggle to get a good mag change.

Hi All,
Giving some thought to getting one of these....had a look a one last week and it looks like a nice plinker.
Anyone married up a +4 follower and a +3 base to give 17 rounds in the mag?
Also.....I can find a few UK websites offering the follower, but not sure where to get a +3 mag base....any ideas?
Cheers
David

We've got the followers in right now, but the extended bases are a month or three away.walesdave wrote:Hi All,

Re: GSG 1911 .22lr lbp
Do you need new mag springs to add either/both the +4 follower and +3 base plate?
Also, what are the options for adding a micro red-dot? I'd prefer to keep it off the slide as i doubt its conducive for reliable function on a .22. However the options i've seen so far (apart from the god awful looking mount that replaces one of the grip plates), look like they'd interfere with being able to use the ghost/racing type holsters.
Ideally i'd like either a quick draw holster/mount that would permit the use of both a red dot sight and keep the frame in front of the trigger guard free for a laser (i'm wanting to go SUPER Open division )

No you don't need new mag springs in either case.Blackstuff wrote:Do you need new mag springs to add either/both the +4 follower and +3 base plate?

There's a version of the GSG that has a rail on the lower - to which you can add a scope mount - for sure Simply Firearms had one the last time I was in.

Did it look like it would interfere with a competition style holster? To be honest i've never used one but they seem to attach to the front of the trigger guard so anything attached to the front of that i would think would prevent the gun holstering properly/at all?
I really must pay more attention to other peoples kit at the next LBF comp!

I was shooting with a guy a few weeks back who had a tricked up GSG 1911, in fact I didn't recognise it at first, he had a red dot & comp style holder.
