Hello from Norfolk
Hello there everyone :)
I thought I should introduce myself to the forum. My name is Ryan and I live in Norfolk.
I will give a brief background of my shooting experience, sorry I can tend to waffle!
I used to plink with air rifles in my back garden in my late teens but sold my rifles (I owned a .177 Baikal Break Barrel Springer, a .22 Alros Trailsman and a .22 Brocock Fox) to put towards my first car. I really regret it as the latter two of those rifles are pretty rare now - especially the Fox which you need an FAC (or some other sort of permit) due to it having precharged "bullets" but there you go.
I hadn't fired anything for years until my brother decided to buy an air rifle earlier this year to sort out his pigeon problem and after having a few shots the bug was back and I wanted one of my own yet due to where I live and having a pathetically small back garden I would need to join a local club of which I tried to join a couple of local HFT clubs but basically did not have much luck and after an initial few emails, my queries went unanswered so I thought would just plink at my brothers from time to time, pretty disappointing but hey ho its a good excuse to see my brother more often.
I then happened to mention recently to a friend about shooting in general and found out he is a member of a rifle club and he asked if I would like to come along and shoot at his club warning me that once I tried firearms I would no longer want air rifles.
It turns out he was right :) I had a great afternoon shooting .22LR, .243 and .303 (ouch) and found people at the club very welcoming, eager about their sport and friendly. It turns out I was actually a pretty good shot too considering I have never shot a firearm before.
I'm currently going through the process of joining the club as a probationary member before hopefully getting offered full membership and taking the step of applying for my FAC :)
Well that's me, hopefully you haven't fallen asleep :)
Ryan

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools!!

Re: Hello from Norfolk
Hi Ryan, which club are you looking at, you have BRPC and Grove in your area, both are great clubs to be a member of with some incredibly friendly like minded shooters in both. Grove has the advantage of having more long distance days and they shoot at Barton Road and Thetford 2-3 times every month.
