"A worried member of the public has forced Leicester City Council to admit it is unprepared for a zombie invasion."
I have to admit I looked twice when I saw the headline

I'm generally a fan of the FOI act but this sort of nonsense makes me wonder if people should have to pay a fee with each request. Someone will have to have spent time fielding this request and that is a waste of taxpayers' money.

Oh I do not agree with a fee, that will only stop people from using the service.

I can see your point of view and have some sympathy with it as FOI is a corner stone of democracy but then you end up with nonsense like this which is just a waste of time and money. If we assume limited resources, which seems reasonable as all resources are limited to some degree, then perhaps this particular enquiry has delayed a useful inquiry.
I can't remember who said it but there's an expression along the lines of, demand for any service which is free at point of use will inevitably out strip supply. That seems quite relevant here.

When it comes to the zombie apocalypse we're talented amateurs at best here.bobbob wrote:Maybe you should send them the forum link, plenty of experts on here
If you want to see people taking the whole zombie apocalypse thing way too seriously to the point of being a bit creepy you need to get yourself over to AR15.com. Not that I'm suggesting you do that of course. It's much more civilised over here.

Well I didn't know that. It's nice that someone agrees with me for once!
I wonder if someone coughed up hard cash for this request? If so, they must be even more of a loony than I originally thought.
