What is your favourite Black powder capper
As per the subject, what is your favourite type/make of Black powder capper? I have an in-line one here I lost caps a couple of times which means going through a mis-fire procedure, I will keep an eye on the next chamber to be shot in future to ensure they are still in place. I could always use my fingers and give the caps a squeeze before placing them on the nipples however it could be there is a capper which sort of overcomes this issue...

I use Ted Cash cappers and prefer the snail type, I find them easier to handle and the inline ones need constant replenishment.
The nipple cut outs in the cylinder might need modifying slightly to accept the capper but not difficult if I can do it.

If you need to squeeze the caps on then you have the the wrong caps or the wrong nipples.
There appears to be no agreed nipple/cap standard.
A capper will not solve a slack cap problem.
I like the larger nipples and then sand them to size in by chucking them in a drill bit and turning them down to size with emery paper.

I am currently converting all my revolvers to Slix-shot nipples as they do work well with CCI No. 11 caps which seem readily available here at the moment.

I have a new set of nipples, I will test the old and new for fit with my caps. It is probably me being dim as much as anything.
Are you sourcing your Slix-shot nipples over here?

Not sure if he is still in business but you could give Trevor Deary a call (01603 411727) to see if he is still making his cappers. Not cheap but the best in-line capper I have used.
