An Army Navy type shop near me used to stock the Type D in reasonable numbers and I often called in to buy things, not because of what they were but because of the girl behind the counter who was gorgeous however she fixedly ignored me on every occasion...
I had a pair of their Luftwaffe grey leather flying gloves that gave great service on my motorbike for a long while.

Re: one knife!
a handgun is a lot harder to find though (for most of us, and in a proper SHTF situation, the man down the pub isn't gonna be any good)

When I lived in the UK I imported an obsolete caliber revolver from the US, it worked fine. Where there is a will there is a way. :)bradaz11 wrote:a handgun is a lot harder to find though (for most of us, and in a proper SHTF situation, the man down the pub isn't gonna be any good)
PS, The postie brought it right to my door, no problems with customs whatsoever, and I know they never checked it.
