So its not really a "Gun show loophole", but a "private sale loophole"......

A private seller doesn't have access to police or FBI databases, so they can't check a potential buyers background, and the US has no certification process, so a buyer doesn't need any paperwork to say he can, or can't buy a gun.

So if you have a gun for sale and your buddy at work, who you've known for 10 years, offers to buy it, you don't know that 15 years ago he was a convicted felon.

At least in the Uk he would need an FAC with a relevant slot....
