On the ROA the screw that holds the latch to the barrel that the rammer locks on to, does anyone know what the pitch of that screw thread is? I'm looking to have a blanking screw made in stainless as I've got a Belt Mountain quick change cylinder base and latch on the way...
Any ideas? My searches have drawn a blank and my own engineering skills are pretty poor to tell the truth!

Ruger Old Army screw thread pitch
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Re: Ruger Old Army screw thread pitch
There is no thread.
Not on mine, it has a recessed ball bearing that holds it in place. I can remove it just by pushing it out with my thumb.

EDIT: oh... You mean the one on the end of the lever that haa a spring behind it... Ive not removed that....
2nd Edit... Just a thought, the replacement base pin is shorterned and doesnt reach the latchy bit at the end of the barrel. So I dont think you would need the bit on the end of the old one.

5.5" model. Base pin cannot be completely removed unless the latch on the barrel is removed.

Can you just remove it and measure the tpi?
Or just send it to the person making the "blanking" one.
The bit on the barrel on mine is either press fit or welded!
