New to forum and centre fire rifle

#1 Post by JoeM »

Hi All,
By way of introduction I am a retired police officer with 5 years of experience on a Firearms Team during and was trained in revolver, semi-auto pistol, practical and target shotgun. During this time I owned handguns but when the Government stole my collection after the handgun ban I was so incensed I foolishly told them to stuff their FAC.
Now I am retired and looking to fill my time I have been getting back into shooting, starting with clay shooting and 22lr at my local club and next week getting my first centre fire rifle, a Ruger Precision in 308.
I have joined the forum to smooth the steep learning curve by absorbing as much info on the science of mid range shooting as I can, hopefully without arousing too much mirth or raised eyebrows at my beginerish questions.

Will be submitting first set of novice questions shortly. lol

Good morning Joe, and welcome to the forum. Many of us here still feel the pain and injustice of having our competition handguns confiscated and turned into scrap.

Tell me about it, I had to hand over the sweetest Bereta 22lr target pistol and my beloved S&W 686 357mag. Boy was I p*** off.
