Having been through original and BX trigger groups and not liking either I have replaced all the internals with Power Custom parts which have all been shimmed. The intention was to eliminate first stage with adjustable sear and go straight to a nice crisp break.
It's probable me as I am a novice in these things but when I adjust it to get rid of first stage it fires once and then won't reset the trigger, so I back it off a bit until it does fire properly and lo and behold the first stage is back. Not only is it back but there are sometimes 3 or even 4 stages before it breaks. I just cannot work out when it is going to release leading to snatched shots.
I suspect the plunger behind the trigger is the cause of the multi stage first stage but how do I get rid of the first stage altogether ?
Anyone else had these problems?
With hindsight I would have gone the Timney or similar route but having already spent that amount of money I have to go with what I have got.

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools!!
