Just had a thought, if yours is a Handi Rifle are you bench resting it or otherwise supporting/putting pressure on the forestock while shooting?

If you are try resting it on area B as shown below, resting the forestock anywhere in area A can cause barrel movement if the barrel isn't fully free floating or fully locking up. The other way to tell is to remove the forestock and shoot without it :)

Jesus Christ! ****

I'd be suicidal if mine did that! 5mith

I've used a variety of bullets and powders, for full loads 168gr Nosler Custom Competition over 15gr of Hodgdon H110, gave around 1800fps and even with my little 1.5-5x20 scope gave me under 3" at 100yds.

For indoor stuff (sub-sonic) I use 3.4gr of Viht N310 and a 115gr cast rounf nose flat point at around 1050fps or a 165gr over 3.7gr, either of those will do under 1/2" at 25m, anything over that is down to me :)

Mines a single shot Advance Armaments version of the NEF HandiRifle, 16" barrel and about a 5-1/2Lb trigger so that doesn't help matters but it breaks very cleanly.

If you're anywhere near Durham you're more than welcome to try it out or I can send you some Lake City cases to try if you want but unless someone has made a really bad job of forming them I don't think your cases will be the problem.

And I can send you some bullets to try as well if you want them :)
Hi mate, ive just seen this.

Can I take you up on your offer please, let me know how much you want for bits and postage. Shame you're not closer as I would shoot next to you and compare loads/groups.

My local shop has just got some Lapua brass in for me but are quoting me about £80. Need to call the tomorrow to find out how many thats for and see if anythings been lost in the message cos thats WAY more than I want to spend.

You stated that you were using home made cast bullets are they the right size for your bore. I doubt the cases will make much difference to accuracy.

Seems that a really, really good clean is all it takes aaarggh oops like it had never been cleaned before me and I hadn't either. 30mins with a rod, brush and cleaner turned my groups into these , although didn't really like the dodgy rodge bullets.

Will post pics when on the computer

165gn - Shell house bullet size
LC - Lake city brass
5.0-6gns - Amount of unique powder used
Jeff, Mine - Whether Jeff's or my brass used
Dodgy - Dodgy Rodge's bullets

Hope this all make sense, once again thanks to Jeff for taking time (and money) to send me cases and bullets for free to try out.

I've now got a new appreciation for the little handy rifle shakeshout, next test will be 100yard grouping and sorting out a good outdoor load using H310 and FMJ's
