Re: LUCKY!!!!!!
From the other report I read it sounded it like it might be live, as they were talking about operating outside the building to ensure safety.
I can't remember where I saw it to link back to.

Re: LUCKY!!!!!!
The one from Vietnam was a rifle grenade lodged in a GIs chest cavity that wasn't found until years later......if an RPG hits you there's very little chance of survival even if it fails to explode as the average RPG projectile is approx 85mm in diameter (some up to 105mm), 2 - 4.5kg in weight and travelling at around 115m/s.Chuck wrote:They had one like that in Vietnam and I think in Mogadishu too. Re: LUCKY!!!!!!
I remember back in the early 70's one of the films they used to show us in the Canadian Army was 'Evacuation of Battle casualties in Vietnam". Lots of gory footage in that one. One scene was the discovery of a 40mm rifle grenade in a body in the OR and the operation to remove it which involved sandbagging the patient in place.

Remember seeing that on the news - brave doctors.
