I've sourced why my 1858 shoots around 2 feet high. The gun slides out of my hand upon firing, I tried using a real death grip and held 5 out of 24 on the bull.
Gloves may be a cheaper option but I'd rather a secure grip.
Can anyone suggest a stock maker to make a set of grips that incorporate a palm/web swell or thumb shelf.

Seriously though we all miss Les and fine bespoke pistol grips.
Personally I'd get a spare set of grips and have at them with Milliput, files and sandpaper.
The end result may not be pretty but you can easily get a set of good fitting grips this way with a little patience.

You could always raise the foresight.
A strip of can metal epoxied to the front of the ramp site can then be snipped and filed down to get you on target, sight black and away you go.

What load are you using. Increased velocity will lower point of impact.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

When shooting my Rem 58 I find I can curl my little finger under the grip, in effect holding the pistol with 3 fingers. I use 30 grains BP and never found it a problem.
I must say, the grips are small - I can't imagine why they were designed that way in the first place.

Tried that to not much effect. Used both a .38 case of powder and a 9mm case. Can't remember how many grains off the top of my head.

I tried this earlier, it helps somewhat I agree but still rides up in my hand.

That's what I'm planning on doing if quotes are over budget. Something like this would do.

I have the same problem with mine, so if you find a solution be sure to let us know.
my current plan is to make some from MDF to get the right fit and checkering the surface.(the either casting them in a tough rubber, or copying the designs in a nicer wood)
